I’ve had the most delightful past few weeks. On a whim, I took a quick trip to Switzerland and Italy! I meet the lady on the left 10 years ago through scrapbooking and her friendship has changed my life! It was amazing to spending a really special day with her and we also traveled around to boot! I know this photo is huge but Venice just requires a big pic! Amazing place! I can finally check this one off my bucket list!
Lucerne, Switzerland is a simply magical place and when you’re there, you just have to buy a fondue pot. (This is my daughter-in-law’s mother. Lucky for me that we are such good friends!)
Now on to Whitworth Ranch Retreat in Scurry, Texas! If you want to go on a AMAZING girls retreat where you’ll feel totally relaxed, pampered, spoiled, and creative, this is a MUST for you!
I met Stacy Seely several months ago at a Scrapbooking Expo. She told me about her retreat ranch, Whitworth Ranch, that ministers to women and I loved her concept! I’ve honestly never done anything like this before but grabbed a few family members and then a few friends “volunteered” to come too. Let me just say that it was one of the most amazing for days of my life. If you’re look for a wonderful, affordable getaway, PLEASE check out Whitworth Ranch.
We were welcomed the first night with cheerful holiday lights and a hot chocolate station on the front porch.
Inside was a spread of appetizers and a beautifully set festive table set to holiday music. And the attention to detail was spectacular–we felt completely spoiled.
The next day we went to the Canton Flea Market (the hit series “Fixer Upper” shows this HUGE market on their program). Let me just say “Oh My Heck!” Such a fun day picking through booth after booth of wonderfulness. We all choose a clock that we altered the next day.
The next two days were spent DIY crafting. I’d forgotten how fun it is to be a maker while socializing with women. We all crave this but sometimes the busyness of life gets in the way.
You must take a class from Tracy Pounds from The Little Blue House. She is simply brilliant and a wonderful teacher.
The first class was altering our clocks.
As you can see here, five of us purchased the same clock and look at all the different ways it was repurposed. So much fun! (Mine is the blue one on the bottom right.)
We also created “Advice from a Snowman” canvases complete with darling sugar cookies from our host.
That night we watched Christmas movies and ate, ate, ate amazing food. The rancher, John Whitmore, also took us on a Ranger ride around his farm. Sage was thrilled he let her drive!
Just had to show my brave moment–getting this close to a bull!
The next next day we made these beautiful Close to My heart layouts complete with frame that is hinged and opens up (so the page can quickly be changed out). We also made travel jewelry cases!
The interior of the house is a sight to behold.
Plus there is a huge crafting space and a massage room!
Again, please check out this marvelous place. I can’t recommend it enough. And–we are going to do an Anthology retreat there in the near future. All the crafting will be around my new line! More details to come!
Hope you’re having a blessed week!
