Last week I was fortunate enough to attend a Creating Keepsakes Convention in one of my favorite places ever, Lancaster, PA!
I was able to meet so many fantastic people and reconnect with so many friends!
I met this gal years ago in Ocean City, NJ (through Creating Keepsakes magazine) and we’ve been amazing friends ever since. She and her husband even came to Utah from Pennsylvania for Kade’s wedding four years ago!
This 12-year-old gal was at the convention in her mom’s booth and was rockin’ it with the make and takes.
And I was so touched with this sweet story. These three gals met at a community center scrapbook event several years ago and became instant friends. They get together several times a week to scrapbook and have become family. They travel together to conventions. The silver-haired lady is 93 years old and is a huge go-getter. I absolutely love this friendship.
As many of you know, I used to go to QVC once a month for 11 years. During this time I become really good friends with two Amish families and we’ve all stayed in touch. I was lucky enough to stay at this friend’s house and teach her about selfies! Several have asked about pictures with the Amish. It’s been tradition that they don’t allow photographs but honestly I think it’s letting up. They all were willing to pose of these pics. I’m kinda obsessed with this way of life–horses and buggies, no electricity, simple clothing and loads of family time!
Finally, guess where I’m going in just a few short hours?
ALASKA on a cruise! I’ve wanted to go there my entire life and now I can check this off my bucket list. My sweet mom organized this trip for her daughters and their spouses. My oldest sister, Carolyn, and her husband, Vaughn, are on a mission for our church in Rome so they won’t be joining us.
I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures!
