The Downs family reunion, thanks to my dear mom, has been a yearly tradition for as long as I can remember. Every summer we get together with as much family as possible and have a grand old time.
This year we went camping for four days just 10 minutes from my house. The campground is up in the mountains and is seriously a completely different world. (So weird to think that “real life” happens for the Bearnson family just miles away.)
We spent a day at a beautiful reservoir. Sandy shores are hard to find in Utah but this area was recently renovated and literally tons of sand was brought in around the water. Oakley was in pure heaven the entire afternoon.
We also did lots of game playing, crafting, hiking, biking, eating and our traditional family olympics:
My 87-year-old mom is so competitive and it was cute watching her play the games.
My cute former neighbor also hosted a “princess” event at her home and it was so fun to take Oakley. I can’t believe how much she’s growing up. This Nana gig is pretty great!
This week, I’m off for an adventure with Steve! We are taking our trailer and are driving wherever the wind blows us.
A little update on my family. Collin and Emily moved to Atlanta, Georgia a couple of months ago and are loving it there. Collin graduates with a degree in Political Science in just two weeks! They are working in a family-owned business.
Brecken, who is currently serving a mission for our church in Macon, Georgia (she’s actually living near Savannah), returns home in just three months! (Girls go for 18 months while the boys go for two years.) I’m counting down the days! She has mixed feelings about coming home. She has loved the people in the South so much and the experiences there but is also anxious to be with her family again.
