Who here considers themselves an animal person, raise your hand?! I love animals. They have such a basic yet unique sense of being and have an inherent sense of love, at least for one another. Plus, they are all so different and fascinating! This past week, I’ve been in awe of some of the miraculous animals that live in my neck of the woods and wanted to share them with you:
I never tire of seeing these Texas long-horn cattle who live just a block from my house. I’m in awe of their horn span. I mean, how do they ever lie down and sleep?
On a recent walk, I came upon this mama and baby buffalo. The love of “parent and child” is so apparent in this picture. I could relate with how much I love my children and want to protect them.
Meet Maggie, a chubby beagle, and her best friend, Twilight, a stray “feral” cat. I say “feral” because she isn’t used to humans and can’t be held or touched, but she isn’t necessarily a wild cat–she lives in our back garage and we’ve been feeding her for eight years. Maggie and Twilight are simply best friends! Twilight will often come to our door loudly meowing, begging Maggie to come out and play. When I see them together, it just puts a happy bubble in this girl’s heart!
