Last week, my hubby asked me to join him for an impromptu week-long camping trip. I asked him where we were going, and he said “Let’s just get in the truck, hook up the RV and drive!”
And drive we did! We drove through Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and even Canada. It ended up being an incredible trip. There were several downs–like a blown-out camper tire or coming across a massive forest fire–but the ups far outweighed them.
While the trip was full of big and exciting things, I still kept my eye out for the small and simple things that brought me joy.
When our trailer tire blew-out, we were lucky enough to be near a tire shop and a big engine repair shop. While waiting for the shops to finish with our RV, I found my new favorite beverage–Huckleberry Lemonade from the Dust Cutter Beverage Co. So yummy!
As we went in-and-out of Canada, I couldn’t help but have a sense of admiration for each national flag that we passed. It was such an honor to enjoy the country of Canada, but my heart particularly swelled with patriotic pride when we drove back into the USA and were greeted by our stars and stripes. (We even came across a flag that I assumed belonged to Great Britain. I looked it up and, while it is the UK flag, it is also an official flag of Canada known as the Royal Union Flag. The more you know!)
I’m a sucker for a good sunset, and this particular one made me feel so calm during our drive. I took this photo while we were driving so it’s a little blurry, but the colors are so beautiful!
I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to go on this incredible trip before our house gets a little crazy–by next week we’ll have three foreign exchange students in our house! The trip has me feeling rejuvenated and up for the task… wish me luck!
